TFIB is proud to be associated with the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone(SAIF Zone) and the Portuguese Industrial Association - Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AIP-CCI).
The agreement to enhance mutual cooperation in the areas of investment and business, was signed by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, director of SAIF Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority and Jorge Pais, vice president of AIP –CCI at the Lisbon 2016 Seminar organized by The First International Business(TFIB). Other senior officials from SAIF Zone and AIP-CCI were also present at the event.
The Sharjah – Portugal Roundtable Business Conference organized by Shurooq in collaboration with TFIB was a huge success with the attendance of prominent business personalities from the emirate’s business community and the Portuguese business sector.
Welcome addresses from the hosts were given by H.E. Khalid bin Butti Al Hajri, Director General - Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry and H.E. Marwan Al Sarkal, CEO - Shurooq.The event was also attended by His Excellency Dr. Jose Andrade de Lemos,Ambassador of Angola in the UAE and UAE-based representative for the visiting delegation, Eng. Manuel Couto Miranda, Trade Commissioner- Portuguese Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
The conference highlighted the huge investment opportunities available in Sharjah such as the advanced infrastructure, strategic location and investor friendly benefits. The talks also featured the success story of TFIB – a Portuguese company based in Sharjah.

The SAIF Zone in collaboration with TFIB participated in Canada’s food & packaging material exhibition SIAL 2015. The show that lasted for three days attracted more than 800 national and international exhibitors from 46 countries.
The investment seminar conducted by SAIF Zone and organized by TFIB, was honored by the participation of Mohammed Saif Helal Al Shehhi - UAE Ambassador to Canada. He also visited the SAIF Zone booth at the exhibition and discussed various options of FDI with Saud Salim Al Mazrouei – Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, HFZA and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone.

In collaboration with TFIB, the seminars conducted in Portugal by the delegates from SAIF Zone (Sharjah International Free Zone) and Shurooq (Sharjah Investment & Development Authority) for exploring the Portuguese trade market was a resounding success. Sheikha Najla Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Portugal, has praised the efforts of the delegation while addressing the investors’ seminar in Lisbon & Porto City.
The seminar highlighted the SAIF Zone’s role as a trade hub and provided an overview of the business opportunities in Sharjah. The seminar which was attended by a number of potential investors provided an excellent platform to gain an insight into the ongoing business opportunities available in the region as well as various ways to gain connectivity in the regional market.
The delegation was headed by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone. Raed Bukhatir - Deputy Commercial Director , Wafa Balsawad - Marketing Manager and a number of representatives from Shurooq (Sharjah Investment & Development Authority) were also part of this delegation.
The First International Business (TFIB) will be organizing a regional workshop event for the SAIF Zone (Sharjah International Free Zone) and Shurooq (Sharjah Investment & Development Authority) in Portugal which will be held at the AEP Auditorium in Porto City on the 3rd of March 2015 and at the Grand Lisbon Hotel in Lisbon on the 5th of March 2015.
To be conducted in collaboration with several Portuguese Associations, this event will focus on several key trade issues with the main objective being to enhance the participant’s understanding of the multilateral and regional trade negotiations between the countries involved. The workshop will seek to provide a forum for information of exchange on trade experiences starting with a conference in the morning followed by lunch and back to back meetings throughout the afternoon. A team of delegates from the SAIF Zone & Shurooq will lead the discussions during the workshop.
